The Macedonian Army of
Antigonus Jonatus

Antigonus Jonatus- the ruler of Macedonia and Asia (or all the parts he has left). King Jonatus is the last Antigonid ruler to rise to the purple from his ancestors, Antigonus One-eye, Demetrius, and Antigonus Gonadless (the mad eunuch of Macedonia- well... he wast all that mad, and he wasn't much of a eunuch until after the battle of Analcephalin). Antigonus still clings to the belief that to "conquer with the spear" is his honor bound quest- and in so doing: re-unify the empire of the Great Alexander. His stubborn reliance on the Phalanx style of warfare has led to a stunning string of near-victories, matched by a dismal series of disastrous defeats! But as the King himself has been quoted "Better a Pyrrhic victory, than er uh . a Pyrrhic defeat!" He still clings to the old ways even though Romans, Parthians, and Gauls (oh my!) are snipping away at his empire..... |
