The Macedonian Army of Antigonus Jonatus
This was my first Warhammer Ancient's Battles page, it's nice to see it still holds its own amongst the other pages!

Antigonus Jonatus- the ruler of Macedonia and Asia (or all the parts he has left). King Jonatus is the last Antigonid ruler to rise to the purple from his ancestors, Antigonus One-eye, Demetrius, and Antigonus Gonadless (the mad eunuch of Macedonia- well... he was’t all that mad, and he wasn't much of a eunuch until after the battle of Analcephalin). Antigonus still clings to the belief that to "conquer with the spear" is his honor bound quest- and in so doing: re-unify the empire of the Great Alexander. His stubborn reliance on the Phalanx style of warfare has led to a stunning string of near-victories, matched by a dismal series of disastrous defeats! But as the King himself has been quoted …"Better a Pyrrhic victory, than … er …uh…. a Pyrrhic defeat!"

He still clings to the old ways even though Romans, Parthians, and Gauls (oh my!) are snipping away at his empire.....

The Macedonian Phalanx, arrayed up to 32 ranks deep with 18 ft. long pikes- this is the most formidable fighting machine of ancient history-
as long as it is on clear ground with secure flanks. Ral Partha and Minifigs 25mm figures.
